About our School

Tommy Douglas Collegiate opened in August 2007 and is Saskatoon Public Schools newest high school. Tommy Douglas is part of a unique facility (called the Blairmore Integrated Facility) that sees Saskatoon Public Schools, City of Saskatoon, and Saskatoon's separate school division in partnership providing a destination centre for Saskatoon residents.

Tommy Douglas Collegiate includes:

    • two large gymnasiums
    • a 430-seat performing arts theatre
    • a spacious band area complete with practice rooms
    • a dance studio
    • an industrial arts woods shop
    • a home economics lab
    • science labs
    • a 5,000-square-foot fitness facility
    • state of the art computer and graphic arts labs
    • classrooms equipped with data projectors
    • wireless technology

We also have a community room, food services and a large commons area for students to enjoy. Sixty-eight acres of park space surround our school complete with soccer, softball, and football fields as well as walking and biking trails and an outdoor amphitheatre. The building that is home to Tommy Douglas is joined to Bethlehem Catholic High School by a common corridor through the City of Saskatoon's Shaw Centre which includes a 50-metre pool, 25-metre warm-up pool, diving facility, indoor water park and slides, fitness areas and 160 metre indoor track for walking and jogging. We are delighted to be part of this one-of-a-kind facility, and are thrilled that our students and community have access to all that this facility has to offer.

At Tommy Douglas, we offer programming to meet the needs of many students. We offer a broad-based curricular program that allows students countless choices in electives, including Dance, Digital Photography, and Performing Arts. We also offer honours programs leading to optional Advanced Placement courses in a students Grade 12 year. Functional Living Skills (FLS) offers programming for young adults with special needs. Our Softball Academy allows students to follow their passion for softball through this unique academic program. We are currently planning programs in swimming and diving to take advantage of the great aquatic facility that is attached to our school.

Tommy Douglas Collegiate is a place to belong. We are honoured to have our school named after a great Canadian who acted on his belief that communities are responsible for taking care of one another.
