Silverspring School’s Green Team is a sustainability club that was created promote the following goals:

• Take leadership in school waste reduction and ecology programs (composting, blue bin recycling, waste-free lunches, other as needed)
• Gardening (help with maintenance, planning)
  
• Promote and model alternate transportation for our students
• Learn about ways to live more sustainably

Currently students in grades 4 through 6 involved in Green Team support school-wide composting and plastic recycling programs as well as maintaining the gardens in front of the school. They have participated in educational trips, the Saskatchewan Environmental Society’s outreach programs, school energy and waste audits, awareness campaigns, contests and more.
