FlashMob web.jpgThe Fairhaven School DreamTeam is a student-led and initiated extracurricular program with the goal of this program is to promote health, well-being, and leadership in the participants.

The students involved in DreamTeam pride themselves on being health ambassadors in the school and community. Members are committed to healthy living, teamwork, and treating others with respect and kindness and their healthy attitudes towards physical activity and nutrition are infectious to the wider population of staff, students, and community members.

The program is open to students in Grade 5-6 and the purpose of DreamTeam is to demonstrate that physical activity and healthy eating can be fun. In addition, the DreamTeam models acceptance of all genders and abilities.

Team members are health ambassadors for their school. In the past they have planned a school nutrition conference to promote health, well-being and leadership in their school and organized 160 classmates who staged a dance flash mob during the PotashCorp Children’s Festival of Saskatchewan in June 2015 as well as Saskatoon Public Schools’ school opening celebration in the fall of 2015.

The opportunity for student participation and learning provided by the Fairhaven School DreamTeam was recognized with profile in the school division’s 2015 Report to the Community.
