Programs & Services
We hosted a Meet the Teacher Night and BBQ. Using a "Passport to the School," the
children took their parents/guardians around the school to all the teachers and
introduced them, had a visit, and then got their passports stamped. Once the passports
were stamped by all the required staff/teachers, they went to the gym to enjoy their BBQ
supper with family and friends.
We have three major fund raisers a year – i.e., Magazine fund raiser, Art Cards, and our
We share the student's artwork with the community in printed form.
Movie Night - a family movie night with popcorn, drinks and snacks. Silent Auctions,
raffles and contests also enhance the evening.
World Café - we are hosting a café information evening for parents/guardians with
several topics that they can rotate through. At the conclusion, we enjoy coffee, treats
and time for visiting and discussion.
MaraFun - The children will be taking part in a running training program in conjunction
with the Saskatchewan Marathon. Students can complete all 42.2 kilometres (26.1
miles) of a full marathon, by running/walking 2 kilometres a week for 20 weeks. This
weekly running regimen is incorporated into the Physical Education program at Buena
Vista. To complete the MaraFun, students will run the final 2.2 kilometres at
the Saskatchewan Marathon on Sunday, May 30, 2010.
Touchstone/Branding - Buena Vista will undergo an identity development through the
process of discovering its meaning and value. Input will be gathered from all our
stakeholders: our SCC, students, staff, and community.
