Alvin Buckwold School was built in 1966 and is located in southeast Saskatoon within walking distance of Market Mall shopping centre and across the street from James Anderson Park.
École Alvin Buckwold School offers English (K – 8) and French Immersion (K – 8) programming. We offer many educational opportunities for our students. Curricular programs include: Core French (4 – 8), music, band programs (grades 6 – 8), resource programming and daily physical activity.
We strive to engage students in our school through extra-curricular activities, including many sports, choir, house leagues, hand bells, environmental club, and Student Leadership Council.
We are proud of our active School Community Council where parents engage in our school: family literacy evening, math evening, and Celebrating Diversity community potluck.
We offer a resource program; a music program, led by our fine arts teacher and band instructor; and educational assistants who work directly with students needing assistance.
Alvin Buckwold houses a preschool program for three- and four-year-old children, and the Eastview Daycare Cooperative which offers both a before and an after school program.
École Alvin Buckwold School is a dynamic, multi-cultural school. We are proud to have students and families from all over the world. We promote our similarities and celebrate our differences.
