Description: This is a course that examines contemporary Canadian Indigenous issues. Five major units: Indigenous and Treaty Rights, Governance, Land Claims and Treaty Land Entitlement, Economic Development, and Social Development will be covered. These units trace the historical issues which exist between Indigenous People and the Crown. Students will gain insights into current issues that face Canada's Indigenous People. Throughout the course, Students will look at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and determine how many recommendations have been reached.
