Prerequisite: ELA 9A and 9B

 

Description: ELA 10B explores identity (diversity of being), social responsibility (degrees of responsibility) and social action (justice and fairness). The concepts in this course provide students with a deeper understanding of themselves, their constructed worlds, nature, and how they can become agents of change. Course will use foundational stories, poetry, non-fiction/fiction novels and the play Macbeth.
 
Outcomes will explain what students will learn and will specify the skills, strategies, abilities, and understandings students are expected to be able to demonstrate. This course provides opportunities for students to view, listen, read, speak, write, and use other forms of representing such as visual or multimedia. This course provides opportunities for inquiry learning, social responsibility, personal agency (acting to make something better) and self-reflection.
