Experiential and Athletic Programs
Saskatoon Public Schools offers the following experiential and athletic programs for collegiate students. A list of academic programs can be found here.

Collective Voice

This half-day, full-year program for Grade 9 students emphasizes learning through collaboration, group work and community building. Offered at Aden Bowman Collegiate.




Community Engagement 

Students have the chance to study in a program where opportunities are linked to community resources and programs. Offered at Nutana Collegiate.




High School Carpentry Apprenticeship 

The High School Carpentry Apprenticeship allows students to experience all aspects of the residential construction industry. Offered at Mount Royal Collegiate, this full-semester program is open to Grades 11 to 12 students division-wide.



MAGPIE Initiative 

The MAGPIE Initiative (Manifest Academic Growth Promoting Indigenous Excellence) gives students the opportunity to engage and learn language, history, customs, protocols and everyday realities of Indigenous lifestyles in an urban school setting. Located at Nutana Collegiate.



Media School 

Media School is a full-semester program that explores the world of making films and television. Based at Evan Hardy Collegiate, this program is open to Grade 11 students division-wide.





Off the Grid 

A half-day, full-year learning experience for Grade 9 students who are interested in such topics as climate change, sustainable living and social justice. Offered at Tommy Douglas Collegiate




Outdoor School 

This curriculum is delivered with a philosophy of outdoor, adventure and environmental education. Based at Walter Murray Collegiate, this full-semester program is open to Grade 11 students division-wide.



Soccer Academy

Students have the opportunity to improve their skills as they work with one of the top coaches in Canada. Located at Centennial Collegiate.




Softball Academy

Students have the opportunity to build their skills in the sport in combination with their education. Located at Tommy Douglas Collegiate.



Saskatoon Secondary Schools Athletic Directorate

The Saskatoon Secondary Schools Athletic Directorate (SSSAD) plans, supervises and coordinates interschool athletics. It also promotes interschool athletics as an integral part of the total education process. For schedules, results and standings, please visit the SSSAD website.



Skilled Trades of Construction Program

The Skilled Trades of Construction program allows students to learn practical and theoretical knowledge in seven different construction sub trades. Offered at Walter Murray Collegiate.


Tourism

Students develop the skills needed for post-secondary education, life-long learning, and work in the travel and tourism industry. Program offered at Nutana Collegiate.




Waskawīwin-Land-Based Education Program

The Waskawīwin-Land-Based Education Program at Bedford Road Collegiate sees Grade 9 students and teachers using an environmental approach to learning that recognizes the deep connection and relationship of themselves to their place in the world and the land.
