Where should I register my child?

Kindergarten students can register at any school of their choice. However, most students register at the school that serves the neighbourhood where they live, also known as their catchment area. Please note that priority will be given to students who live in the neighbourhood.

A list of schools offering kindergarten can be found here. The School Locator tool can also help you identify the schools serving your neighbourhood.

When should I register my child?

You can register your child beginning in January for the next school year. Applications are also accepted throughout the year. To register, click here.

Many of our schools offer parent information evenings and tours in January each year. Our principals are always available to answer any questions you may have about registration. You are welcome to call or drop in at any of our schools. We'd love to see you!
Later in the spring, many schools offer orientation sessions and a sneak peek at kindergarten for families and their children. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to explore their new classroom and for parents to begin their relationship with their kindergarten teacher and staff at the school.

How do I register my child?

To register for a kindergarten program, please contact the school where the program is offered. A list of our schools and their contact information can be found here.

Note: Students interested in full-day kindergarten must apply before registering as spaces are limited.

When will I know if my child is accepted into full-day kindergarten?

The school team reviews applications in June and will confirm placement in the full-day kindergarten program by the end of the month. If the kindergarten is full, you will be contacted to discuss other options.

If registering after the school year has begun, the school will be able to inform you if there is availability.

Are we able to schedule a school tour?

Yes, schools welcome families to visit and ask questions. To schedule a tour, please contact the school directly.

What school supplies are needed?

School supply lists for each school are available on school websites in June. In addition to the supplies listed on your school website, please ensure your child has a backpack, change of clothes and indoor shoes.

Information about transportation can be found here. Please note there are no buses during the lunch hour.
