βTo help protect SPSD from email-based viruses and scams, messages containing
older Microsoft Office file types will no longer be allowed entry into the SPSD email domain
, specifically DOC, XLS and PPT.
We encourage you to take these steps to upgrade your Office documents, spreadsheets and presentations to use the new safer, modern formats of DOCX, XLSX and PPTX.
To convert your file to the modern format, follow these steps in Word, Excel or PowerPoint:β
βOpen the file in Word, Excel or PowerPoint (eg. Test.doc)
Click the
File
tab. Click the
Convert
button, as shown below. Click
OK
when prompted.β

βToβ complete the conversion, save your file (eg. Test.docx). This will create a new copy of the file in the modern format. To avoid future confusion, you may wish to archive/delete the older version.β
