The Outdoor School Program for all Grade Eleven students in any public high school is offered through Marion M. Graham Collegiate. Five grade eleven courses (Biology 20, Geography 20, English Language Arts 20, Physical Education 20, Wildlife Management 20/30) are combined to create a unique integrated outdoor program based on the concepts of environmental and adventure education. The outdoor environment becomes the classroom as students travel extensively throughout Saskatoon and Saskatchewan. In addition, senior math courses are available online and may be pursued in conjunction with the other five credit courses
Students also complete extended canoeing, backpacking, skiing, winter camping and survival expeditions. A fee of $495 (in 2012) is charged to cover equipment, facilities, expertise, and some transportation costs. Students are required to supply some of their own personal gear and a bus pass for city transit. Interested students apply for the Outdoor School Program through the Student Services office at their high school. For more information, contact the Outdoor School teachers at Marion M. Graham Collegiate at 222-4275 or 683-7750 or visit our website.
