About Our School
Alvin Buckwold School was built in 1966 and is located in southeast
Saskatoon within walking distance of Market Mall Shopping Centre and
across the street from James Anderson Park. We offer a regular
program for students in Kindergarten to Grade 8. Alvin Buckwold
houses a preschool program for three and four year old children, and the
Eastview Daycare Cooperative which offers both a before and an after
school program.
Unique to Alvin Buckwold School is our full day Kindergarten program which enhances students' social skills and skills in literacy and numeracy. We offer a resource program; a music program, led by our fine arts teacher and band instructor; and educational assistants who work directly with students needing assistance.
Alvin Buckwold School boasts an active School Community Council. Our gym is well-used by community groups during evening hours. We offer a wide-range of extra-curricular clubs, sports and activities.
We are proud to be the school that hosts the Saskatoon Public Aerospace Education Project (S.P.A.C.E.), S.P.A.C.E. encourages students to actively participate in science and technology through space simulations and workshops. The project began in 1990 and has existed at Alvin Buckwold School since 1994. S.P.A.C.E. is open to all students and teachers at Saskatoon Public Schools.
