Report to Community shares stories of student learning, success

SPS_report_1617_dancer_425x325.jpgStories of learning, achievement and success fill the pages of Saskatoon Public Schools' Report to Community for 2016-17.

The annual publication, which recognizes the work of students, staff and schools and illustrates the ways in which the school division strives to provide inspiring learning each and every day, can be read online or at one of our schools.

"I am pleased to present the 2016-17 Saskatoon Public Schools Report to the Community," said Board Chair Ray Morrison. "As you will read in this book, it was another bustling year for our school division. While we maneuvered some difficult times, we have much to be proud of and celebrate."

The report highlights example of how the school division is supporting student learning in key areas such as First Nation, Inuit and Metis education, career and work education, safe and caring schools and mathematics. It also updates progress on the division's two strategic learning priorities, Literacy for Life and Collegiate Renewal.

SPS Annual Report 2016-17 cover.jpg"This book shines a light on the tremendous work being done in our schools every day," said Director of Education Barry MacDougall. "I hope it will enlighten and inspire you as we share how we are preparing students today to be tomorrow's leaders."

Stories of student success and innovation in academics, the arts and athletics carry throughout the report alongside the important individual achievements and recognition provided to teachers and staff during the past school year. Unique projects and an opportunities that schools take advantage of to support learning and engage both students and the wider Saskatoon community are also a part of the publication.

The book highlights the many important partnerships with community, business and public sector groups that support students and schools and play an important role in the success of our students the school division.
