We often comment on how, despite our cold Saskatchewan winters, it's always warm at "The Lake!" Parents and community members, upon entering our school, mention regularly the good feeling that exists in our school. Students and staff are friendly and inviting. Our older students work well to mentor our younger students, fostering a family and community atmosphere. We guarantee that you will be greeted with a smile when you walk through our doors.

Our school is full of energy and enthusiasm. Our students are active and engaged. We strongly believe that empowering students to assume leadership roles by planning and facilitating activities and events in and out of the classroom builds life skills and strong citizenship. Our students, guided and supported by staff, lead In Motion, citizenship, family, community-building, and spirit activities and events for our school and community. Our students are active leaders in our school.

We are a team at John Lake School. Students, parents, teachers and staff all work collectively to provide a high standard of education. We believe students learn best in a safe environment where they are comfortable to ask questions and challenge themselves. Our staff focuses on creating and facilitating quality learning experiences that fulfill the requirements of provincial curricula and on encouraging students to reach their full potential. We focus on monitoring student progress and providing additional support where required. We believe that all students can learn and that it is our responsibility to ensure that they do.
