About Our School
Built in 1956, and located in one of Saskatoon's mature, suburban communities, Holliston School is home to approximately 250 students from kindergarten to Grade 8. Serving both the Holliston and Haultain neighbourhoods, our school has expanded three times since it first opened. We also house a Before and After School Care program.

In 2003, Holliston School was inducted into the League of Peaceful Schools. Several criteria were met in order to be chosen, including a discipline policy and programs that promote peaceful living. At Holliston, specific moral values are emphasized when teaching students empathy, self-control and respect for all. Our school's code of conduct includes five principles, which spell Hawks, our school mascot.
  • Having fun
  • Attitude
  • Working hard
  • Kindness
  • Safety.
Our school motto is, ‘My place, your place, our place, a safe place." Student safety is our number one priority. Our mandate is to conscientiously provide the Saskatchewan curriculum through a quality academic program.

As an In Motion school, our goal is for all students to be active for at least 30 minutes each day (aside from recess breaks). This is facilitated by having a physical education specialist for most of our grades. We promote healthy and active lifestyles and encourage positive nutritional choices.

Our school offers a resource program to support students with academic and/or behavioural needs. Our teacher librarian collaborates regularly with classroom teachers to provide students with resource-based learning opportunities. Music programs are offered to all grades through our fine arts teacher and band instructor. Additionally, Holliston has educational assistants who work directly with students who require intensive supports

Staffing for Holliston School includes 20 teachers, seven paraprofessionals, a school counsellor, a principal and a vice principal.
