New school information meetings set; student registration now underway

November 08, 2016

Registration is now open for students planning to attend one of Saskatoon Public Schools' four new elementary schools and information meetings are scheduled for the coming weeks to update the respective communities on the school project and planning for 2017-18 school year.

Sylvia Fedoruk School in the Evergreen neighbourhood, Ernest Linder School in Hampton Village, Colette Bourgonje School in Rosewood and Chief Whitecap School in the Stonebridge community are currently under construction and are scheduled to welcome students and staff in September 2017.

Community meetings will include an update on the facility, as well as information on registration, transportation, daycare, before- and after-school care, kindergarten, school community council and parent council, and playground fundraising. Meetings are scheduled for:

  • Sylvia Fedoruk School, Wednesday, Nov. 23, 7 p.m. in the Dr. John G. Egnatoff School library
  • Ernest Lindner School, Tuesday, Nov. 29, 7 p.m. in the Dundonald School library
  • Chief Whitecap School, Wednesday, Nov. 30, 6:30 p.m. at École Alvin Buckwold School gym
  • Colette Bourgonje School, Thursday, Dec. 1, 7 p.m., at Lakeridge School library

Families planning for their children to attend any of the four new schools are being encouraged to indicate their intentions or register as soon as possible. An accurate student count will allow principals and division staff to make preparations for staffing and student needs in advance of the 2017-18 school year.

Registration and parent intentions forms are available on the websites of all four schools under the About Our School menu.

Parents of students who are currently attending a Saskatoon Public Schools elementary school do not have to fill out a new registration form. All that is required is basic student information and an indication of which school the student plans to attend in September 2017.

Parents of students who will be entering kindergarten or who do not currently attend a Saskatoon Public Schools elementary school are asked to fill out the full registration form. The form may be submitted via email to the respective school or be returned in person at any Saskatoon Public Schools elementary school or at the Board of Education office located at 310 – 21st Street East.
