Collegiate renewal is one of two strategic learning priorities for Saskatoon Public Schools. Collegiate renewal will transform our high schools and the learning our students receive. Examples of collegiate renewal include:

  • Investing significantly in teachers’ professional development with a focus on inquiry learning for Grades 9 to 12 and literacy development for Grade 9 English Language Arts students.
  • Developing Mount Royal Collegiate, a centre of excellence for technology and trades, as an integrated training facility for secondary and post-secondary students.
  • Strengthening the transition between secondary and post secondary education with expanded partnerships with post secondary institutions.
  • Strengthening caring relationships between teachers and students through advisory programs such as Royal Mentors, Charger Time and Tiger Time.
  • Exciting new academies and programs including Dance at Bedford Road, Tommy Douglas and Marion M. Graham Collegiates; Hockey at Walter Murray Collegiate, Science & Technology at Centennial Collegiate; Leadership at Bedford Road Collegiate; Tourism and Career & Experiential Learning at Nutana Collegiate.

Our collegiate renewal outcome statement is - "All collegiate students will be engaged in their learning so that they will graduate as active participants in lifelong learning and as responsible and caring citizens in the community, nation and world.
