Ecological Knowledge
Ecological knowledge seeks to understand and explain the workings of ecosystems. Ecology is the scientific study of the relationships that living organisms have with each other and with their natural environment. Ecosystems are interconnected biological communities containing many dynamically interacting species of living organisms that are influenced by each other, by physical parameters, and by abiotic aspects of the environment. Ecology is a broad science with distinct sub-disciplines including:
    • Behavioural Ecology
    • Community Ecology
    • Eco-physiology
    • Ecosystem Ecology
    • Evolutionary Ecology
    • Global Ecology
    • Human Ecology
    • Population Ecology
Ecology can also be considered a human science when studied from practical applications approaches such as conservation biology and, wetland and wildlife management.
